Richey Rabbit Run
The Richey Rabbit Run is a community athletic event held in Wilmington, Delaware, starting and finishing at Richey Elementary School on East Highland Avenue. The primary purpose of the event is to support Richey Student Activities through participant registration and fundraising efforts. The event offers two main course options for participants:
- 5k
- 1 Mile Non-Competitive Walk
The course is timed using the MYLAPS BibTag chip timing system provided by R2R Timing. Results are posted online during and after the event. Participants receive race shirts and have access to a post-race party on the school playground featuring snacks and refreshments. Due to insurance liability, dogs are not permitted at the event, and race bibs are non-transferable.
Awards are presented to the overall male and female finishers, as well as the top male and female masters, based on gun time. Age group awards are determined by chip time and include medals for the top three male and female participants in 10 year age categories ranging from 12-18 up to 80+. Specific award medals are also designated for the top male and female students in each elementary grade from kindergarten through 5th grade.
