Event overview
The Richard Burton 10k is scheduled for 2 November 2025 and is organised by the Bryn and Cwmafan events committee (charity number 1176360). Main sponsors include Tata Steel and Runtech. The programme includes a 10 km race and the Runtech Kevin Webber Mini Miler (one-mile fun run).

Entries for the 2025 races are closed. There are specific entry categories for affiliated athletic clubs, Tata Steel employees and contractors, and non-athletics groups competing for the Mathew Mizen team trophy. The group with the most finishing participants receives a trophy and a £250 donation to a charity of their choice.
Logistics, entry and prizes
10 km entrants must be 15 years or older. Online entries were posted to runners who completed entry before 23:59 on 12 October, with race numbers showing name, starting pen colour and guaranteed t-shirt size for those entries. Race numbers are posted to the address given at registration. Only finishers receive event t-shirts, which are distributed after the finish; finishers also receive a slate coaster, a Welsh cake and a bottle of water.
A shuttle bus service will run between Aberafan shopping centre multi-storey car park, Port Talbot Parkway and Cwmavon; local signed parking areas are also available in and around Cwmafan. Toilet and changing facilities, showers, refreshments, a food village and post-race entertainment in the local rugby and football clubs are listed. First aid is provided by Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team and marshalling by Port Talbot Harriers. Prize money is awarded to the top finishers and teams, with listed amounts for placing and additional bonuses for fast times and course records. The Mini Miler starts near Cwmavon Football Club; children receive a t-shirt, medal and goody bag, and under-9s are advised to be accompanied by an adult.
