Ribby Hall Triathlon - 18 April 2027
Ribby Hall Triathlon is a sprint-format event held at Ribby Hall Holiday Village, Wrea Green, Preston, Lancashire (PR4 2PR). The swim takes place in a heated 25 m indoor pool and is a fixed 400 m distance (16 lengths). The bike is a flat, single-loop road circuit on open, narrow rural lanes; riders must obey the Highway Code and take care as the route is not closed to traffic. A railway level crossing is on the bike course; competitors must stop if the barrier is down and will be credited time if delayed. On return to transition riders must dismount and rack their bikes before removing helmets. Race numbers must be worn on the back for the bike leg and on the front for the run.
The run uses an off-road trail around the Ribby Hall estate. Competitors run out 2.5 km to a turn point and return the same way. The trail is single track with space to pass in both directions; organisers recommend walking the route beforehand.
Other event details: part of the Fylde Trilogy Series (including St Annes and Fleetwood), chip timing, medals and gifts, and prize giving at Ribby Hall. There is no parking at the venue; competitors must use the parking at Kirkham Grammar school. A race licence or single-use race pass (or appropriate membership) is required to participate.
