Rhythm of the Heart 5k Race & Walk
The Rhythm of the Heart 5K Run & Walk is a community event held in Loves Park, Illinois. This race serves as the opening activity for the fourth annual Rhythm of the Heart Music Festival. The course is designed to highlight the history and local landmarks of the city, taking participants through original neighborhoods, the Field of Honor Veterans Memorial, and areas featuring local murals. The route also offers views of the Rock River.

The start and finish lines are located near the Field of Honor Veterans Memorial at City Hall. All registration fees are donated to Christmas for Kids, a local nonprofit organization that supports children in the Harlem School District through community events involving first responders and teachers.
Participants receive a finishers medal upon completion. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in various age categories ranging from 1-12 to 80 and up. Parking is available at City Hall, Sand Park Pool, and GE Aviation. Packet pickup is scheduled for the Wednesday and Friday preceding the event, with an additional pickup option available at City Hall on the morning of the race.
