River Run on August 15, 2026 is the 13th annual event organized to benefit RAMP, a local nonprofit that supports individuals with disabilities. The event offers multiple course options:
- 3K Walk / Wheel-A-Thon
- 5K Run
- Half Marathon
The course carries a USATF certification (IL 17063). All participants in the Half Marathon, 5K Run and 3K Walk will receive finisher medals. Age-group medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place are awarded in the 5K Run and the Half Marathon. There is a $100 prize for the overall first place male and female in both the 5K and the Half Marathon. Registration or fundraising by July 20th guarantees an event t-shirt.
Location and event information
The event is based in Rockford, Illinois, with race-day operations associated with RAMP at 202 Market Street. Strollers are permitted only in the 5K Run and the 3K Walk / Wheel-A-Thon. Dogs are not allowed unless they are service animals. Portable toilets will be available and RAMP’s indoor restrooms are also open for use. Parking options near the venue include Trinity Lutheran Church, the lot behind RAMP’s parking area, and Madison Street south of Prairie Street.
