Revolutionary Run for Veterans at "America's Turning Point" 5K

Organized by the Saratoga County Veterans Service Agency and Board of Supervisors, the 13th Annual Saratoga County Veterans Trust Fund 5K Race and a children's fun run are scheduled at Fort Hardy Park in Schuylerville, New York on November 7, 2026. The course is described as relatively flat and fast.

The route begins at Fort Hardy Park, follows the historic tow path north, crosses the canal to Hudson Crossing Park, makes a loop around the park field, then continues along a nature path beside the Hudson River before returning on the tow path to Fort Hardy Park. The finish area includes refreshments and post-race ceremonies at Fort Hardy Park.

All registered runners receive a runner T-shirt, refreshments, and hamburgers and hotdogs provided by Saratoga County American Legion Posts; T-shirt sizes are not guaranteed. A shorter distance kids fun run takes place directly after the 5K at no charge. Only children who intend to run the full 5K are required to pay the event registration fee.

Awards are given to the top five open male and female finishers, the top three Masters (over 40) male and female finishers, and top male and female finishers in five-year age increments. Proceeds benefit the Saratoga County Veterans Trust Fund and are designated for training, education, healthcare, housing, essential services, and projects for the welfare and support of veterans.

The course passes Champlain Canal Lock C5 in Hudson Crossing Park, a site tied to the 1777 river crossing and Battles of Saratoga that are commemorated as part of the Saratoga County 250th anniversary observances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
