About the race

The Saratoga County Veterans Service Agency and the Board of Supervisors present the 14th Annual Saratoga County Veterans Trust Fund 5K Race and a children’s Fun Run at Fort Hardy Park in Schuylerville. The course is described as relatively flat and fast. It follows the historic Champlain Canal tow path north, crosses the canal to Hudson Crossing Park, makes a gentle loop around the park field, proceeds along a nature path beside the Hudson River, and returns on the tow path to Fort Hardy Park where refreshments and ceremonies are held.

Distances:

  • 5K
  • Kids fun run, shorter distance, no charge

All runners receive a race tee shirt (sizes not guaranteed), refreshments, and hamburgers and hotdogs provided by the Saratoga County American Legion Posts. There are awards for the top five open male and female finishers, prizes for the top three Masters (over 40) male and female finishers, and awards in five year age increments for male and female runners. The children’s fun run takes place directly following the 5K; children who intend to run the full 5K must pay the registration fee of $30. Proceeds benefit the Saratoga County Veterans Trust Fund and are intended to assist veterans with training, education, healthcare, housing, essential services, and related welfare projects.
