Cambridge Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 5K
The Cambridge Thanksgiving Turkey Trot is a 5th annual community 5K held on Thanksgiving morning in Cambridge, New York. The course starts at the old brick Coila Church on State Route 372 and proceeds toward the village of Cambridge. Runners travel along Old Coila Road, through portions of downtown, and past the old Cambridge Hotel before returning down Main Street to finish at The Coila Church.
Course maps are provided at check-in and the route is clearly marked and controlled by law enforcement to support participant safety. Snacks and beverages are handed out at the finish line, and finish photos and finisher goodies are offered to participants. The race enforces a course cutoff time of 2:00 hours, which corresponds to a minimum pace requirement of 38 minutes per mile.
Administrative details described by the organizer include a registration fee of $25.00, race T-shirts available for purchase for participants who enroll prior to Friday, November 7, and two packet pickup opportunities: the evening before the race and the morning of the race. Family members may complete packet pickup or registration for immediate family, and limited day-of registration may be available.
Over the previous four years, 100 percent of registration profit was directed to local causes including the Cambridge Food Pantry, the Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad, and the Cambridge Fuel Fund. This year’s donation recipient will be announced shortly. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
