Retford Half Marathon
Retford Half Marathon is an annual road event with a UKA race licence number 29949. The programme for 2027 includes a main half marathon for runners aged 17 and over and a separate charity Family Fun Run that is approximately 2 km and open to children of all ages; children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Entry fees noted for early bird places are £32, or £30 for affiliated runners, including booking fees. All finishers receive a commemorative medal and there is an option to purchase a T-shirt.
Prizes and awards include trophies for the first three male and female finishers, age-category winners in specified male and female classes, and a team challenge trophy for the fastest three runners from the same club. Only one trophy may be won per individual. The Family Fun Run also awards 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female.
Practical race information: the course received an official measurement certificate issued after a mid-2023 measurement. The event provides four water stations on course plus water at the finish. A bag drop is available inside the school premises but is not insured and items are stored at the owner’s risk. Transfers of places to another runner are permitted; bib numbers are collected on the morning of the event. The published cut-off time for the half marathon is three hours, after which medical cover is not provided. Bone-conducting headphones are allowed in line with UKA road race policy, but music must be switched off at the start to hear briefing instructions.
