Restore Our Sacred Lake 5K Run/Walk/Roll
This event is a community 5K run walk roll held to raise awareness about Onondaga Lake and the ongoing cleanup efforts. The event follows the Thanksgiving Address message of protecting Mother Earth and marks a celebration of wildlife returning to the lake, including the eagle observed there for the first time in over 200 years.
The event takes place in Liverpool, NY at Onondaga Lake Park Marina & Boat Launch. The course starts and finishes at the marina and uses the Restoration Way walking path along the shore of Onondaga Lake.
Online registration is available; registration is free through 8/31/26 and a fee applies for later registration periods. Packet pickup is available at the park near the start and finish area on the day of the event.
Trophies will be presented to the overall first place male and female 5K finishers. Age group awards include 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and older. Participants can download custom finisher certificates and view finish line photos after the race. Professional chip timing and real time results will be provided.
A post race awards ceremony will take place in the park. Organizers reserve the right to reschedule or convert the event to a virtual 5K for public safety reasons and there will be no refunds. There is free parking at the park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
