Restore Our Sacred Lake 5K Run/Walk/Roll
The Restore Our Sacred Lake event is a community 5K to celebrate Onondaga Lake and raise awareness about ongoing cleanup efforts. Organizers reference the Thanksgiving Address and note that the eagle has returned to the lake after more than 200 years. The event is presented as a day of celebration for runners, walkers, and rollers.
The 5K starts and finishes at Onondaga Lake Park Marina & Boat Launch and uses the course shown on the event map. Participants follow the Restoration Way walking path along the shore of Onondaga Lake. The facility is located at Onondaga Lake Park Marina & Boat Launch, 99 Vine Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.
Online registration remains open until the race start, and registration is free through August. Packet pickup will take place at the park near the start/finish on race day. The 5K uses a gun start and chip timing; timing and finish line services are provided with Jaguar Electronic RFID timing by Race Management Solutions. Results are updated in real time and can be accessed via the ITSYourRace platform and event results services. Finish line photos can be viewed and shared and custom finisher certificates are available for download.
Trophies will be presented to the first place overall male and female 5K finishers. Age groups include 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and older. A post race awards ceremony will be held in the park. There is plentiful free parking at the park. In case of foul weather or other concerns, organizers may reschedule the event or convert it to a virtual 5K; there are no refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
