Event details
The Reston Triathlon is scheduled for Sunday, September 20, 2026, in Reston, Virginia (2070 Twin Branches Road, 20191). The event program includes the Reston Triathlon, Reston Aquabike, and an Olympic Relay. The Olympic-distance course for the triathlon consists of the following legs:
- 1500 m open water swim in Lake Audubon
- 25 miles bike ride
- 10K run on local paths
Entry is open to participants age 15 and older. Listed entry fees are $125 for the Reston Triathlon and Reston Aquabike, and $200 for the Olympic Relay. Registration for the triathlon shows a deadline of September 13, 2026. The Aquabike and Olympic Relay fees are noted to increase after March 1, 2026.
CORE Foundation manages the event and resumed the race after a pause; the event returned on September 10, 2023.
Awards and policies
Overall awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers. Age-group awards are provided in standard decade ranges from 19 & under through 75 & older. Additional categories include Athena (female) and Clydesdale (male) classifications. Relay awards include top mixed teams and first-place female and male relay teams.
The event has a no refund and no deferral policy. CORE Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and states that funds raised through the triathlon events are used to assist the community. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
