ReRun 5K
The ReRun 5K is an evening running event held at Tower Grove Park in St. Louis, Missouri. Organised on Earth Day, the race focuses on environmental sustainability and community involvement. The event operates as a green race, which includes the absence of gas-powered generators, single-use plastic cups, and the production of new materials.
Participants contribute to local conservation efforts through their registration, as a minimum of $5 from every fee is donated to Forest ReLeaf of Missouri. This organization works to plant and grow trees within various communities. The event also facilitates the sorting of waste into recycling, compost, and landfill categories through a partnership with Open Space STL.
The event features several specific eco-friendly initiatives:

To maintain the commitment to sustainability, the race utilizes recycled items from previous events, such as unused race bibs, timing chips, and swag. Attendees have the opportunity to donate old athletic footwear to a recycling program that keeps running shoes out of landfills. Participants are encouraged to use public transportation or carpooling, bring reusable water bottles, and browse through a selection of vintage event shirts.
