Rend Lake Marathon
The Rend Lake event in Benton, Illinois includes a marathon, a half marathon and a quarter marathon held around Rend Lake and finishing at North Marcum Beach. The site combines paved paths, bike path segments and rolling country roads with lakeside scenery.

- Marathon: 26.2 Miles
- Half marathon: 13.1 Miles
- Quarter marathon: 6.55 Miles
Rend Lake encompasses 18,900 acres of water and 20,000 acres of land. The area includes nearly 800 campsites across five public campgrounds, boat ramps, beaches, picnic sites and trails. The course passes South Sandusky Beach, the Marina, the Rend Lake Visitors Center and the spillway, then continues on country roads that run near Lake Hamilton and Lake Benton before returning to the bike path and North Marcum Beach.
Registration opens 04/01/2026. Registration closes 10/01/2026 for the marathon and half marathon; the quarter marathon registration closes 03/28/2027.
