Renaissance Run 5K (Run or Walk)
The Renaissance Run 5K is an annual community event held in historic Norris, Tennessee. Sponsored by the Norris Area Community Foundation (NACF) in memory of Michael Curtin, the event raises funds for community grants that benefit residents of the Norris, Andersonville, Bethel, and Fairview areas. The event takes place in a setting known for its historic neighborhoods and local landmarks.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- 5K Run or 5K Walk: This in-person course starts at Norris Middle School, winds through moderately hilly neighborhoods, and concludes in downtown Norris.
- 1-Mile Fun Walk: This in-person route consists of two loops around the Norris Commons sidewalk.
- Virtual Participant: A remote 5K option is available for those unable to attend the in-person event locally.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers in the in-person 5K event. Additionally, first and second place medals are awarded across various age groups, ranging from children aged 11 and younger to the "Golden" category for those 75 and older. In-person 5K participants are eligible for medals and prizes, while the 1-Mile and virtual participants are included in prize drawings. Event shirts are provided to all participants who complete their registration by the early April deadline. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
