About the race
Remembrance Sunday 2026 is a commemorative trail running event in Brightlingsea, Essex, that includes ceremonial elements before the race and a period of silence during the event. The Last Post and Reveille will be played live before the start with a two-minute interval between them, and there will be a two-minute silence observed on the course. The event uses an undulating, traffic-free, looped trail course. Each loop measures 10.54 km (6.55 m as listed) and the format allows entrants to complete as many laps as they wish within a six-hour time limit.
Two laps equal a half marathon and four laps equal a full marathon. This is a cupless event: runners must bring their own cup, flask, or bottle. Speedcups are available for sale at registration. Aid stations are located at the end of every lap and at approximately 5 km; participants may leave a bag with personal supplies at the aid station.
On-course refreshments listed include flapjacks, sweet items, fruit, nuts, water and squash. The race assembly is outside Batemans Tower Café on Promenade Way, Brightlingsea. Roadside parking and public car parks are available along Promenade Way. Toilets are near Bateman’s Café in the West Promenade car park and are accessible before, during and after the event.
The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and run under UK Athletics rules. A bespoke medal is provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
