Remember the Fallen 5K Memorial Run
The 16th Annual Remember the Fallen 5K is a memorial running event held on September 5, 2026, presented by the North Port Fire Rescue Honor Guard at the George Mullen Activity Center, 1602 Kramer Way, North Port, FL 34286. The distance is 5K (3.1086 Miles) and the course is described as flat and fast, with displays of fire trucks, police, and military vehicles along the route.
The event is family friendly and open to runners, walkers, athletes, and supporters. A post-run celebration is planned on site, including performances by a pipes and drums band and an awards ceremony. Every finisher receives special surprise finisher swag.
Awards are given to the first male and female in overall and age-based categories: Youth Overall (14 and under); Masters (40+); Grand Masters (50+); Senior Grand Masters (60+); Veteran Grand Masters (70+). Age-group awards are given three deep in the following brackets: 9 and under; 10-14; 15-19; then five-year increments up to 75-79 and 80 and older.
A Hometown Hero Challenge is available for Fire Officers, Fire Fighters, EMTs, Paramedics, Law Enforcement, and Military who run in their service gear. Hometown Heroes compete for age-group 5K awards, receive a commemorative challenge coin, and are recognized during the awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
