Relay for Life 5k, Lorain
Relay for Life 5k, Lorain is a community running and fundraising event held at Lorain County Community College in Elyria, Ohio. The event offers a measured 5K, a 1 Mile course, and a kids fun run.
The running courses are described as fast and flat. The event day also features a classic car show, a kids play zone with bounce houses and inflatables, a kids car show and touch a truck area, food trucks, a silent auction and raffles, opening ceremonies, a survivor lunch, and a luminaria ceremony. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society, with an overall fundraising goal listed at $85,000.
Participant provisions include a T-shirt and medal for 5K and 1 Mile entrants, a medal for kids sprint participants, and awards for top finishers. Top three male and female 5K finishers receive sunglasses, and top three finishers in each 5K age group receive a specialized race cup. Courses will be measured and course maps are available; distances reflected on maps are GPS estimates.
Registration is online only and there are no cash or credit card transactions on site. Race day bib and T-shirt pickup is handled at the registration tent by the start and finish parking lot. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
