Rehoboth End DWI and support June Camp event : Church Rock, NM
This community event in Church Rock, NM combines timed road trail races, team competitions, a noncompetitive walk, and a new kid's run. It is organized to raise funds for local causes and to bring awareness to families affected by drunk driving.
- 10K run on dirt trails, two laps of the 3.1 mile loop
- 5K run on the same 3.1 mile loop course
- 1-mile walk on pavement, suitable for strollers and wheelchairs
- 1-mile kids run for ages 14 and under on sandy, hilly terrain
The 5K and 10K courses are on dirt trails except for the start and finish area. The 5K uses a 3.1 mile loop; the 10K covers the loop twice. Timing is provided with bibs and chips and awards are given for top three overall and by age and gender. Aid stations are located near the 1.5 mile, 3 mile, and 4.2 mile marks. All runners and walkers receive a participation medal and post-race snacks and drinks.
The 1-mile walk is not timed, welcomes teams and displays such as tents and signs, and allows leashed dogs only on that course. The kids run is not timed; each finisher receives a medal and a popsicle.
Proceeds remain in Gallup with half allocated to a DWI memorial project and half to Rehoboth June Camp for K–8 children. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
