Little Sisters of the Poor is a nonprofit organization that provides housing and care for needy elderly people of every race and religion. The event raises funds for the next phase of an apartment renovation project; exterior repairs are nearly complete and funds are now being collected to repair interior living spaces so independent residents can move back into updated homes.
The run takes place on the trails of Red Rock State Park in New Mexico. The park setting includes towering red sandstone cliffs, wide open skies, and desert landscapes that form the course surroundings.
