Reef's Run 5K : Reef's Run for Hydrocephalus Awareness
Reef's Run 5K is a community running event held on September 13, 2026, at Round Hill Pines Beach Resort, 300 US Hwy 50, Zephyr Cove, Nevada. The event is organized to raise awareness and funds for hydrocephalus research and to support local families.
Registration opens June 12, 2026, and closes August 6, 2026. A registration fee of $40 applies. Day-of registration and check-in are available, and participants receive assigned bib numbers at check-in.
Event amenities and activities include participant shirts and a Reef's Run bag with items such as magnets, stickers, protein bars, and cooling packs. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in kids, women's, and men's divisions, and every participant receives a finishers' logo medal. Refreshments are provided during the event, including non-alcoholic options and a complimentary beverage for participants aged 21 and over. Pizza and other food are available during the post-event gathering.
Family-friendly features include face painting, music, a silent auction, raffle drawings, and allowance for strollers and balance bikes for children ages five and under. Attendees are encouraged to wear hydrocephalus blue attire.
Hydrocephalus is described in the event information as an abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid that enlarges brain ventricles. The event notes that the condition affects more than 1,000,000 Americans and about one to two in every 1,000 babies born, and that surgery is the current treatment option.
