Rio Rancho Red White and Blue Run
The Red White and Blue Run is an Independence Day sporting event held at the Rio Rancho Aquatic Center and Loma Colorado Park in New Mexico. The event features several distances for runners and walkers:
- 10K (6.21 miles)
- 4-Mile Run/Walk
- 2-Mile Walk
- Kids K (for ages 11 and under)
The 10K and 4-Mile courses start near the Rio Rancho Aquatic Center, while the Kids K starts and finishes within Loma Colorado Park. All 10K and 4-Mile participants are required to wear a timing chip on their bib to be eligible for results and awards. These races utilize a gun start with a timing chip finish.
Participants receive an event T-shirt and a finisher medal. Awards are presented to the top three overall men and women in the 10K and 4-Mile events, as well as the top three finishers in age groups ranging from 9 and under to 80+. All registered participants in the Kids K receive a special recognition award.
Post-race refreshments are provided at the park following the conclusion of the events. Proceeds from the race support youth running programs and school fitness initiatives. The course includes fluid replacement stations at the start, finish, and along the route. While baby joggers and strollers are permitted if positioned behind other runners, dogs and motorized wheeled devices are prohibited.
