The Red S.H.O.E 5K Walk/Run is scheduled for April 18, 2026 in Athens, Georgia at Dudley Park (100 Dudley Park Rd). The event is organized by the Athens Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and is presented as the inaugural Red S.H.O.E. 5K. Event proceeds will support the chapter’s programmatic thrusts, including community service initiatives and scholarships for college-bound high school seniors.

The course is an out-and-back route with the start and finish located near the sunflowers in Dudley Park. Registration fee information is listed as $35 plus a signup fee, increasing after February 28, 2026. T-shirt requests must be submitted by March 31, 2026. Awards include Overall Male and Female, Masters Male and Female, and age-group awards for males and females in 10-year increments from 10 and under through 80 and over. A virtual option allows participants to run 3.1 miles remotely; virtual runners must be registered as virtual participants and are not eligible for t-shirts or race day awards.
