Red Rock Canyon - January 23, 2027
The Red Rock Canyon event is held on the Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive near Las Vegas and offers three distances: a full marathon, a half marathon, and a 5K. The scenic drive is a 13 mile paved road through Mojave Desert terrain with sandstone formations, desert vegetation, and wildlife.
Distances
- Marathon - starts at the scenic drive exit and finishes at the same exit.
- Half Marathon - starts at the Visitors' Center and finishes at the scenic drive exit.
- 5K - out-and-back course beginning and ending at the scenic drive exit.
Course details include a short out-and-back on Oak Creek dirt road (0.7 mile), sustained climbs to a summit overlook at 4,771 feet, downhill sections to the Visitors' Center (about 3,740 feet), and mixed downhill, flat, and rolling terrain. Cutoff times are published for each distance.
Aid stations provide water and Gatorade at all stations; select "ultra" stations also offer energy gel and electrolyte tablets. Toilets are available roughly every three miles. Because the course uses public roads, it remains open to vehicular traffic and will be coned to provide about one-quarter of the roadway for runners.
There is no parking at Red Rock Canyon on race day; participants and spectators must use bus transportation or be dropped off. Packet pickup is available race morning at the respective start lines. All finishers receive a medal and awards are given by overall and age-group categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
