Event
The Red Rock Canyon race day is scheduled for January 24, 2026, at Red Rock Canyon NCA, Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive, Las Vegas, NV. The event offers these distances:
- Marathon
- 1/2 Marathon
- 5K
Registration fees vary by entry period. The organizer lists tiered pricing for early, standard, late, and on-site entry. A separate Strip Bus ticket is available for a fee.
Courses and aid
All courses use the 13 mile paved Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive and surrounding park roads. Course details include:
- Marathon start at the exit of the scenic drive (approx. 3,800 feet), a 0.7 mile out-and-back on Oak Creek dirt road, climbs to a summit overlook (4,771 feet) and passes the Visitors Center (approx. 3,740 feet); the organizer lists a 7 hour cutoff.
- 1/2 Marathon begins at the Visitors Center, joins the scenic drive, reaches the summit overlook by about mile 5.3, and finishes at the scenic drive exit; the listed cutoff is 6.25 hours.
- 5K starts at the scenic drive exit, is an out-and-back with a 1.55 mile turnaround, and has a listed cutoff of 5.5 hours.
Aid stations are placed at specific mile splits for each distance. All aid stations provide water and Gatorade; selected "ULTRA" stations also supply energy gels and electrolyte pills. Portable toilets are available roughly every 3 miles.
Logistics and awards
There is no participant or spectator parking inside Red Rock Canyon for the event. Bus transport is provided from a free main lot at West Career and Technical Academy (11945 W Charleston Blvd) and an optional contracted Strip pick up at Horseshoe Las Vegas (3645 Las Vegas Blvd). The main lot to canyon bus ride is about 10–15 minutes; the Strip bus ride is listed as about 30–45 minutes one way. Packet pickup is available at the respective start areas on race morning.
All finishers receive medals. Overall male and female winners for each distance are awarded 1st through 3rd and are excluded from age group awards. Age group awards are specified by the organizer for each event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
