Red Rock Canyon Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K
Red Rock Canyon frames the west side of the Las Vegas valley and features a 13 mile paved scenic drive through Mojave Desert terrain with sandstone formations, desert plants, and wildlife. The event uses the scenic drive and nearby access roads inside Red Rock Canyon NCA.
Distances offered:
- Marathon: course begins near the scenic drive exit and includes Oak Creek dirt road.
- Half Marathon: loop from the Visitors Center joining the scenic drive.
- 5K: out and back on the scenic drive starting at the exit.
Course notes include starting elevations near 3,800 feet, a summit overlook at about 4,771 feet, and the Visitors Center at roughly 3,740 feet. Aid stations provide water and Gatorade at designated mile splits; selected "ULTRA" stations add gel and electrolyte pills. Toilets are available at roughly three mile intervals.
There is no participant or spectator parking inside Red Rock Canyon. Event bus transport runs from a main free lot at West Career and Technical Academy and an optional contracted Strip bus ticket is available for a fee. Packet pickup is race morning at each start line. All finishers receive medals; overall and age group awards are given and are based on gun time.
