Red Dirt Backyard Ultra 2026
The Red Dirt Backyard Ultra is scheduled for 27 June 2026 and takes place at a caravan park in Karratha, Western Australia. The event uses a looped trail course that includes gravel, hard sand and red dirt. The organisers describe the route as flat with no elevation, and note that mixed and sometimes uneven surfaces can become more noticeable after several loops. A GPX file for the course is available.
Format and course details
The event follows the backyard ultra format around a loop of approximately 6.71 km. Participants run one loop every hour and may use the spare time between loops for food and rest. The event continues while at least two runners remain; there is no time cap. Teams are not an option for this event. The last remaining solo participant is recorded as the Last One Standing; others are recorded as DNF - Did Not Finish.
