Red Coyote Half Marathon - Oklahoma City

The Red Coyote Half Marathon is an annual running event based in downtown Oklahoma City with the start and finish at the Loves Travel Stage area in Scissortail Park. The event includes a half marathon and a 5K along park promenades and river trails, plus pushchair and virtual options and volunteer roles.

Course highlights include crossing the Skydance Bridge, routes through the upper and lower park areas and the Oklahoma River Trails, and sections that pass Wiley Post Park, the River Cruise Pavilion, the Wheeler Ferris Wheel, the Stockyard City sign, and the Dell Corporate Campus. The route is an out-and-back format in parts, and features a mostly flat to gently rolling profile with about 38 feet of total elevation change; the Skydance Bridge is the primary incline. The final crossing of Skydance Bridge leads to a downhill approach to the finish.

Support and logistics: water-aid stations are placed roughly every two miles and are accessible both directions for seven hydration opportunities. Trash receptacles will be available and runners are asked not to discard cups on the trail. Hydration vests are permitted. Downtown parking is available in public lots and garages; participants should avoid business-only parking.

Beneficiary partner: Course For Change, a mentoring program that trains youth ages 12-18 to run a half marathon after 12 weeks of training. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
