Red Barn Challenge
The Red Barn Challenge is an ultrarunning event in Lykens, PA scheduled for October 2–3, 2026 at the Marzella Farm location on Pottsville Street. The event is chip timed and held on a one mile loop that runs around ponds and fields.
The loop surface is mostly grass with sections of mulch and stone. Each lap has about 70 feet of elevation gain. Aid is provided on course with common ultra foods such as potatoes, rice, broth and hydration options including Tailwind Hydration.
Options include:
- 24 hour race
- 12 hour race
- 6 hour race
Camping is available throughout the weekend with campsites and trackside parking. An award ceremony takes place after the event and participants receive additional food and a sweatshirt or blanket; awards are presented to top male and female finishers in each time bracket and to other notable participants.
The event supports local organizations, including the Wiconisco Fire Company and area athletics programs. Refunds are available at 50% through July 1, 2026. Registration for this edition closed on September 11, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
