Red Barn Challenge
The Red Barn Challenge is a timed endurance running event held at The Marzella Farm in Lykens, Pennsylvania. The event takes place on a 1 mile loop course that features approximately 70 feet of elevation gain per lap. The terrain consists primarily of grass, mulch, and stone surfaces, passing by ponds and open fields.
Participants can choose from three distinct time-based categories:
- 24 hours
- 12 hours
- 6 hours
The event uses chip timing to track laps. All participants conclude their races at the same time on the final day. Trackside camping and parking are available throughout the weekend, allowing for easy access to the course.
The aid station provides a variety of food and hydration options, including potatoes, rice, broth, and specific hydration products. Following the conclusion of the timed events, an awards ceremony is held for the top male and female finishers in each time bracket. The event supports several local organizations, including the Wiconisco Fire Company and area athletics programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
