Event Overview
The 10th Annual R.E.D. 5K Run/Walk is organized by the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Wilmington (DE) Alumnae Chapter. The event supports educational and scholarship programs for students in Wilmington and New Castle County.
Date and Location
The event takes place on Saturday, June 6, 2026. It is held at the Hare Pavilion on the Wilmington Riverfront, located on the riverwalk behind the AAA buildings.
Race Details
The event features a single 5K distance. Participants can choose between a run/walk option or a competitive walking category. The competitive walking category requires participants to walk the entire distance, with no running or jogging allowed. Strollers are welcome, but dogs are not permitted due to insurance liability.
Registration and Fees
Registration opens on February 1. The standard 5K registration fee is $44.35 through June 6, increasing to $45.00 on the day of the event. Separate registration is required for the competitive walking 5K, which has the same fee structure.
Participant Amenities
Registrants receive a t-shirt, with availability guaranteed only until June 1. Post-race refreshments are provided.
Awards and Timing
The race is chip-timed using the MYLAPS BibTag system. Awards are given for overall male and female finishers, overall male and female masters finishers, and the top three male and female participants in 10-year age groups from 18 through 70 and over.
