Real People Helping People 5K, 10K & 2.5 Mile Trail Races
This trail running event is held at the Durty Dabber Pavilion in McElhattan, Lock Haven, PA, with onsite parking available. The event supports the Haven Summer Youth Program, which provides lunches, activities, and community engagement for children, and also directs a portion of proceeds to the Central Mountain Cross Country team. Registration closes Wed, Oct 7 at 11:59 PM ET. Race-day registration requires a donation. Racers are provided food after the event and spectators may attend with a $10 donation.
Course options
- 10K Trail - loop with about 1500' elevation gain
- 5K Trail - moderate, flowing natural terrain through Creekside Trail
- 2.5 Mile Natural Trail - untimed family-friendly loop on shaded forest paths
The 10K is a loop that starts and finishes at the pavilion and follows wooded singletrack and trails through Zindel Park, including Goat Path, Connector, Gut Check, Laurel Trail, Black Diamond, and Kellers Bench before a final ascent back to the pavilion. The 5K follows Creekside Trail into the large loop at McElhattan Nature Park, crosses the creek via a bridge, and returns to the pavilion. The 2.5 mile route uses the Creekside Trail and shaded forest paths and is untimed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
