Real People Helping People Race
Scheduled for October 10, 2026 in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, this trail event is set at the Durty Dabber Pavilion in McElhattan. The event includes multiple distances and follows wooded singletrack and park trails within McElhattan Nature Park and Zindel Park.
The courses and features described by the organizer:
- 10K: challenging loop, about 1500 feet elevation gain.
- 5K: moderate, flowing natural terrain through Creekside Trail and the park loop.
- 2.5 mile: untimed nature trail on shaded forest paths.
The 10K course leaves and returns to the pavilion, routing through Goat Path, the Connector, Gut Check, Laurel Trail, Black Diamond, and Kellers Bench before a final ascent back to the Durty Dabber land. The 5K and 2.5 mile routes use the Creekside Trail and the larger loop at McElhattan Nature Park and cross the creek via a bridge on the return.
Proceeds benefit the Haven Summer Youth Program, which supports youth meals and activities, and a portion of proceeds supports the Central Mountain Cross Country team. Runners who register by August 24 are guaranteed a T-shirt. Parking is available onsite at the Durty Dabber Pavilion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
