Real People Helping People 5K, 10K & 2.5 Mile Trail Races
The event on Saturday, October 10, 2026 takes place at the Durty Dabber Pavilion in McElhattan, Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. It offers organized trail runs on natural and wooded trails and supports local youth and school programs.
Distances offered:
- 10K trail with about 1500 feet elevation gain
- 5K trail on flowing natural terrain
- 2.5 mile untimed nature trail
The 10K is a loop that uses wooded singletrack and the trails of Zindel Park, with named segments including Goat Path, Connector, Gut Check, Laurel Trail, Black Diamond and Kellers Bench before returning to Durty Dabber land. The 5K follows the Creekside Trail into the large loop at McElhattan Nature Park, crosses the creek via a bridge, and finishes at the pavilion. The untimed 2.5 mile nature trail follows the same park loop and shaded forest paths and is intended for beginners and families.
Proceeds benefit the Haven Summer Youth Program, which provides lunch and summer activities, and a portion supports the Central Mountain Cross Country team. Runners who register by August 24 are guaranteed a T-shirt. Onsite parking is available at the Durty Dabber Pavilion; directions note access from Route 220 via the McElhattan exit.
