Real People Helping People 5K, 10K and 2.5 Mile Trail Races : Lock Haven, PA
The event on October 10, 2026 takes place at the Durty Dabber Pavilion in McElhattan near Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. It features trail courses through McElhattan Nature Park and Zindel Park, with onsite parking available at the pavilion.
Proceeds benefit the Haven Summer Youth Program, which provides lunches and summer activities for children, and a portion supports the Central Mountain Cross Country team. Registered runners by August 24 are guaranteed a T shirt. Food is provided to racers after the event and bystanders may attend with a $10 donation. Race day registration is available for a donation.
Courses:
- 10K Trail: scenic but demanding loop with about 1500' elevation gain.
- 5K Trail: flowing natural terrain through Creekside Trail and the park loop.
- 2.5 Mile Natural Trail: untimed fun run along shaded forest paths.
The 10K loop departs from and returns to the pavilion, winding singletrack through Zindel Park and named segments such as Goat Path, Gut Check, Laurel Trail, Black Diamond and Kellers Bench before the final ascent back to the Durty Dabber land. The 5K and 2.5 Mile routes follow Creekside Trail into the large park loop and finish at the pavilion.
Directions note the McElhattan exit from Route 220 and a turn onto Reservoir Road, with a right at the Durty Dabbers sign before Zindel Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
