Ready to Run 20 Miler
The Ready to Run 20 Miler is a fully supported point to point run along Chicago's Lakefront Trail. The course begins at the Montrose Wilson Track on the north end of the Lakefront Trail and finishes at Jackson Park on the south end. There are no loops on the route.
On-course aid stations appear approximately every 2 miles and provide water and Gatorade Endurance. Restrooms or portable toilets are available near each aid station and most stations have full medical support. Pace groups are organized by expected average pace per mile, with running groups from 7:30 to 11:30 per mile and run/walk groups from 12:00 to 13:00 per mile. Participants must finish within five hours after the last on-time start; aid stations and marshals support a 15 minute per mile pace.
Event amenities include gear check transported from the start to the finish, a finisher shirt, a custom keepsake bib, free digital photo downloads, a post-race celebration, and a shuttle service to return runners to the start or to a downtown Grant Park stop. Gear retrieval requires the participant bib; standard backpack or duffel size bags are recommended and no covered gear check is provided.
Registration is tiered by date with member discounts available and registration closes on September 18. No event day bib pick-up is offered; bib pick-up occurs on scheduled dates and locations prior to race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
