Ready to Run 20 Miler

The Ready to Run 20 Miler is a fully supported 20‑mile point to point training run along Chicago's lakefront. The course starts at the Montrose Wilson Track on the north end of the Lakefront Trail and finishes at Jackson Park on the south end. Aid stations are located approximately every 2 miles and offer water and Gatorade Endurance; most stations have nearby restrooms or portable toilets and medical support.

Support services include gear check transported from the start to the finish, shuttle buses from the finish back to the start and a limited shuttle to a downtown Grant Park stop, a finisher shirt distributed at the finish, a custom keepsake bib, and free digital photo downloads. Pace groups cover a range of average paces from 7:30 to 13:00 minutes per mile; group leaders and CARA pacers lead many of these groups. Corrals are self-selected by expected pace and are walked to the start for a controlled mass start.

Registration is tiered by date with a member discount available for CARA Supporter Level members. Packet pick-up takes place on specified dates and at several Fleet Feet locations prior to event day; no day‑of bib pick-up is offered. Participants must be 16 or older, may not transfer registrations, and must finish within five hours after the last on-time start (15 minute pace per mile). The event follows a no-refund policy.
