Ready to Run 20 Miler
The Ready to Run 20 Miler is a fully supported 20 mile training run along Chicago's lakefront. The point to point course begins at the Montrose Wilson Track and finishes at Jackson Park on the south end of the Lakefront Trail.
Aid stations are placed at approximately two mile intervals and offer water and Gatorade Endurance. Most aid stations have restrooms or portable toilet units nearby and many include full medical support. Gear check is available at the start and bags are transported to the finish for pickup with the participant bib. Finisher shirts are distributed only at the finish line.
Shuttle buses transport participants from the finish back to the start and a limited number of buses provide a direct route to a downtown stop in the Grant Park area. Runner transport buses are for participants only.
Participants organize in self selected corrals by expected pace, and pacers from CARA training programs lead many pace groups. The event is run as a training experience and is not a timed or awarded competition. Participants must finish within five hours after the last on time start and must be at least 16 years old. Event policies include no transfers of registration, no refunds or deferrals, and a prohibition on strollers and animals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
