Ready, Set, SNIFF! 5K at BARCStoberfest
Ready, Set, SNIFF! 5K takes place as part of the 22nd annual BARCStoberfest on October 24, 2026 in Patterson Park, Baltimore. The event supports BARCS and helps care for the 12,000 animals that come through its doors each year.
The 5K is offered with or without a dog and uses the same course as previous years. The route can be run or walked; the first loop of the 5K follows the original 1-Mile walk path. 5K registration opens June 5 and closes October 23. The race registration fee is $50 and includes an ultra-soft commemorative T-shirt, a doggie bandana, and a free drink in the dog-friendly beer garden.
A new Half-Mile Pet Parade begins at Pavilion #1 and follows a short route up to the festival area, finishing in the center of the event. Parade participation requires a minimum $50 in donations or fundraising and also includes an ultra-soft commemorative T-shirt, a doggie bandana, and a free drink. Pets of all kinds are welcome and no dog is required to join the parade. Costumes are optional. The parade route is designed to be as inclusive and accessible as possible for participants of different mobility levels.
Festival-only registration is offered with the same $50 minimum for donations or fundraising and the same participant items. All participants are encouraged to create personal fundraising pages to support BARCS care and services. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
