RC2 Community Runs
The RC2 Community Runs take place in Ripon, Wisconsin, and offer three distinct distances for participants:
- Half Marathon
- 10k
- 5k
The event is held at the Vines and Rushes Winery and utilizes the Mascoutin Trail for its courses. Originally established as a collaboration between the local community and Ripon College, the event began through a motivation course taught by Dr. Hatcher, where students had the option to train for and complete a half marathon.
Over time, the run has expanded to include various local partners, such as the Noon Kiwanis, Ripon Community Hospital, and other community organizations. The courses are mapped out to provide specific routes for each distance, with aid stations positioned along the half marathon route.
Participants in all three events receive finisher medals upon completion. Additionally, awards are presented to the overall male and female winners in the 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon.
