Event Overview
The Raven Run 5K and 1 Mile Nun Run takes place in Elberta, Alabama on April 25, 2026. It is part of the St. Benedict Catholic School German Festival.

- 1 Mile Nun Run/Walk (Adult entry: $15)
- 5K Raven Run (Student entry: $20; Adult entry: $25)
- 5K Raven Walk (Adult entry: $25)
Prices increase after April 18, 2026. The student 5K entry is open to participants aged 18 and under. Registration is also available on the morning of the event.
Course and Location
Both the 1-mile and 5K courses are out-and-back routes. They start and finish at St. Benedict Catholic School on Illinois Street. Water is supplied at the turnaround point.
Event Features
The event is themed. The 1-mile event is a costume run where participants are invited to dress as nuns. A post-race party offers German sausage, beer, and prizes. Organizers suggest participants may wear lederhosen or dirndl.
All runners and walkers receive a finisher medal, a free Wetzel Pretzel ticket, and a free drink ticket for Gatorade, soda, or beer/wine (the latter for those 21+). German Festival T-shirts are available for purchase.
Awards
Awards are given to the overall male and female winners in each race. Age group awards are also presented across multiple categories, from 6 & under to 70+.
Additional Information
Packet and bib pickup is available on the day before the race at the school. The event is followed by the 53rd Annual St. Benedict German Festival, which features crafts, food, live entertainment, and a raffle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
