Rattlesnake Master Run for the Prairie
The 28th annual Rattlesnake Master Run for the Prairie is a community road and trail event in Meadowbrook Park, Urbana, Illinois, that benefits Grand Prairie Friends, an accredited non-profit land trust and conservation group in central Illinois. The course circles the 130-acre Meadowbrook Park and prairie and includes sections of trail running.
Event options include the following distances:
- 10K run
- 5K run
- 5K walk
- 5K virtual race
- 10K virtual race
The event offers race medals, optional t-shirts (order by October 18), music, and volunteers. Age group divisions are listed for the 5K and 10K runs across women, men, and non-binary categories; the 5K walk has three age groups. Virtual participants may run where and when they choose and must report results by November 1; virtual times will be posted but are not eligible for medals.
Registration opens in August; online registration for in-person events closes October 19 and virtual registration remains open through November 1. In-person registration and packet pickup are available around the event; race packets are also available the day before at Body n' Sole, 1317 Dunlap, Savoy, IL.
