Rat Race 100 Glamis
The Rat Race 100 Glamis is a 100 mile (160 km) ultramarathon scheduled for 28 to 30 August 2027. The event spans a 48 hour completion window and runs from Glamis Castle to Stirling Castle. Registration and tracker collection take place on the Friday before the event in Dundee.
The route is fully waymarked with bright orange arrows and is organised as a fully supported mass participation event. The organisers provide staffed pit stops offering water, juice, sweet and salty snacks, fruit, toilets and an on-site medical team. Some pit stops offer enhanced hot food and warm options. Medical provision is delivered by professional event medics including paramedics and doctors operating from vehicles and an ambulance. The event is independently audited for safety and risk management.
Logistics include transport of up to five participant bags with specified size and weight allowances, and designated sleep station options at Pit Stops 6, 7 and 8 with an increased bag allowance for sleep kit. There are cut-offs after Pit Stop 6 (around 60 miles) aligned to a 2.5 mph moving pace. Supporter rules limit access to event resources; one support vehicle per participant is permitted and support runners may join from Pit Stop 6. Entries may be transferred within the stated policy window and an optional third party Refund Protect product is offered.
This edition forms part of a three event trilogy where each race continues from the previous finish. Completing all three events awards a Trilogy Finisher buckle. Participants must be 18 or over on the day of registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
