Rat Race 100 Glamis
The Rat Race 100 Glamis is a fully supported ultramarathon covering 100 miles (160 km) over a continuous route from Glamis Castle to Stirling Castle. The event runs across a 48 hour completion window and is part of a three‑event trilogy; completing all three editions earns a Trilogy Finisher buckle.
Registration and tracker collection take place in Dundee on the Friday before the start. The route is fully waymarked with bright orange arrows and supported by event staff, pit stops and a sweeper service. There are no qualifying times required and the event is organised around a 2.5 mph moving pace option for walkers.
Pit Stops provide water, juice, sweet and salty snacks, fruit, toilets and on‑site medical cover; some Pit Stops offer enhanced hot food and additional options. Participants may use designated sleep stations at Pit Stop 6, 7 or 8 with an increased sleep bag allowance for those locations. The event will transport up to five small pit stop bags plus a larger finish line bag; specific weight and volume limits apply.
Medical provision is delivered by a professional event medic partner with paramedics and doctors in dedicated vehicles, and event safety is independently audited. Cut offs are applied after Pit Stop 6 (around 60 miles) and the course may be changed for safety or operational reasons. Participants must be over 18 at registration and carry mandatory kit subject to spot checks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
