Rat Race 100 Glamis
The Rat Race 100 Glamis is a fully supported 100 mile (160 km) ultramarathon running from Glamis Castle to Stirling Castle, scheduled for 28 - 30 August 2027 with a 48 hour completion window. Registration and tracker collection take place in Dundee city centre on the Friday before the event.
The route is fully waymarked with bright orange arrows and backed up by event staff at key locations. There are multiple staffed Pit Stops offering water, juice, sweet and salty snacks, fruit, toilets and medical cover. Organisers do not supply sports nutrition products, so participants are expected to carry their own gels and supplements. Sleep station facilities are available at Pit Stops 6, 7 and 8 with an increased drop bag allowance for those who plan to rest.
The event operates a walker friendly 2.5 mph pacing guideline and requires no qualifying time for entry. There are cut offs after Pit Stop 6, designed around the 2.5 mph moving pace, and organisers reserve the right to enforce earlier cut offs in exceptional circumstances if a participant is unable to reach the next staffed Pit Stop safely.
Medical support is provided by a professional team including paramedics and doctors, delivered in dedicated vehicles and a private ambulance. The event is independently audited for safety and risk management. Up to five bags can be transported for each participant with specified size and weight limits, and a larger finish bag is moved direct to Stirling.
