Tal y Fan fell race
This is a fell race based at Carnival Field, near the village hall in Rowen, Conwy (LL32 8YP, GR 759719). The course covers 12.8 km / 8 mi with approximately 786 m / 2579 ft of ascent. The route is partially marked.
Local knowledge is beneficial and navigational skills are required. The race notes that experience is required. Minimum age is over 18 and there are no junior races. Dogs are not permitted.
Minimum kit required for competitors includes a waterproof top, a map of the course, a whistle and a compass. There are time cutoffs at two checkpoints: checkpoint 1 at 40 minutes and checkpoint 2 at 60 minutes.
Entry is on the day only and is cash only at a fee of £7.50. The event is insured by WFRA. Recorded fastest times for the course are 65:03 for the male record (2009) and 79:25 for the female record (2021). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
