GOG Invitational
The GOG Invitational takes place on Sunday 29 November 2026 and is a team relay inspired by Ekiden. It is presented as an end of season community event for local running groups around the Great Orme. Event headquarters are at The Clontarf Hotel, 2 Great Ormes Road, Llandudno West Shore LL20 2AR.
Each team should appoint a team manager who will enter via the Nifty entry system. The manager is responsible for collecting each team member's name, contact details, emergency contact and medical information, and for providing a list when registering on the day. A blank team information form will be sent out before the event.
There are four event options:
- Miles race trophy: marathon distance, 5 laps, 5 runners, at least 2 females
- Miles race: marathon distance, 5 laps, any combination of runners
- Smiles run trophy: metric marathon, 3 laps, 6 runners, at least 1 female, run in pairs
- Smiles run: metric marathon, 3 laps, any combination, half lap options allowed
Teams should carry a visible baton or sash for handovers; a prize will be awarded for the most creative baton. Under 16s may run with an adult in the Smiles run. The event distinguishes competitive Miles race entries from the more social Smiles run and supports a variety of team sizes and compositions.
