Event overview
Rare Disease Day takes place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Red Tail Pavilion, 2801 E. Spring Creek Pkwy., Plano, TX 75074. The event is presented by Run Different to raise awareness for the estimated 300 million people worldwide living with rare diseases. Finishers of the 5K and 1 Mile receive a custom event-themed finisher medal. The organizer states that awards will be distributed at the event and will not be shipped.

Registration items and notes: the 5K and 1 Mile entries include an event-themed participation t-shirt (participants are advised to register by 02/14 to guarantee shirt size) and a custom finisher medal. The 5K is eligible for age group awards; age groups are awarded three deep across male and female divisions from 0-4 up to 80+. Overall and masters categories (40+ and 60+) receive platinum medals. The Kid's Dash is free; t-shirt and finisher medal are available as paid add-ons. The 1 Mile is an untimed event with no age group awards.
