Event Details
This event, the Rare Disease Day 5K, takes place in Plano, Texas, at the Red Tail Pavilion. It is held on February 28th to raise awareness for the 300 million people worldwide living with rare diseases.
The event offers several race options:

- Virtual Option
What's Included
Registration for the 5K and 1 Mile includes an event-themed participation t-shirt and a custom finisher medal. Participants must register by February 14 to guarantee their t-shirt size. The Kid's Dash is free, but participants can purchase a t-shirt and medal as an add-on.
The 5K is a gun-timed race. Age group awards are given three deep across many divisions for both male and female participants, from 0-4 to 80+. Overall, masters, and grand masters winners receive special platinum medals. The 1 Mile option is an untimed event with no age group awards.
All profits and donations from the event are given to the National Organization of Rare Diseases (NORD).
Volunteering
Volunteers can help on race day with tasks of their choice. As a thank you, volunteers receive a code for a free race entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
