Rare Disease Day takes place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Red Tail Pavilion, 2801 E. Spring Creek Pkwy., Plano, TX 75074. The event includes multiple options:
- Kid's Dash - free, short 100–200 meter sprint
- 5K - $35
- 1 Mile - $18
- Virtual Option - $40
Event details and services
Run Different organizes the event. Registration for the 5K and 1 Mile increases after December 31, 2025. Registration deadlines for some events and the virtual option are February 28, 2026. Participants in the 5K and 1 Mile receive a custom finisher medal; 5K and 1 Mile registrants also receive an event t-shirt (register by 02/14 to guarantee shirt size). The 1 Mile is untimed and has no age group awards. The 5K has age group awards awarded three deep in male and female divisions from 0-4 through 80+. Overall, masters (40+), and grand masters (60+) winners receive platinum medals. Awards are distributed at the event and will not be shipped. The virtual option includes shipping of the shirt and medal the week of the race. Run Different donates 100% of event profits and donations to the National Organization of Rare Diseases.
