Ranney Run 5K and Virtual 5K
The Ranney Run is a community 5K event held in Rolla, Missouri, established in 2016 to honor local residents who died in a 2015 head-on collision. Net proceeds support community organizations; in recent years funds have been raised for the S.A.V.E. Campaign in support of the new Rolla Animal Shelter.
The event offers both in-person and virtual options for the 5K. The registration fee is $30 and includes a Ranney Run t-shirt and chip timing. Chip timing is available for in-person participants only. Virtual participants receive race packets after the event. Registering before August 18 guarantees a t-shirt. Early packet pick-up is available at The Centre on Friday 9/18 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Additional activities at the event include a puppy parade, a dog show, and a silent auction. Registration for the dog show and puppy parade is $5 per dog. In-person awards recognize the fastest three overall finishers and first overall in age groups 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over. Virtual participants are eligible for special awards such as funniest running selfie, most creative mode of transportation, and furthest participant from Rolla. Virtual entrants may submit selfies and route information through the event social media pages to qualify. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
