Range of Light Trail Races - Millpond, Bishop, California
The Range of Light Trail Races are a series of trail and dirt road events held at Millpond County Recreation Area near Bishop in Inyo County. The event benefits Inyo County Search and Rescue and features varied terrain including fast dirt roads, steep and rocky single track through the Tungsten Hills, and extended climbing with high-elevation views toward nearby High Sierra peaks.

Course specifics vary by distance. The 5k is a family and pet friendly loop out of Millpond. The 10k is a longer loop with one aid station early in the course and some single track; it is described as slightly longer than 10 kilometers. The 33k and 50k follow the Tungsten Hills with sustained climbs of roughly 1,500 feet in sections, multiple single track segments, and scenic viewpoints. The 50k continues beyond the 33k with additional climbs and aid stations.
Aid stations provide fruit, salty snacks and heartier fare at some stops. Aid station counts are provided for each distance and drop bags are allowed at specified 50k locations. All distances must be finished by 6:00 pm. Same day registration is available onsite for the 5k and 10k only; same day entrants do not receive event shirts. Course maps and GPX files are published.
