The Ramathon
The Ramathon is a half marathon distance sports event located in Derby. Since being incorporated into the Run For All calendar in 2018, the race has attracted thousands of participants and supported various charitable causes.
The course is described as flat and fast, starting and finishing at Silk Mill Park near Derby Cathedral. The route takes participants through the city and includes a section through Pride Park Stadium.
Participants have access to various services and amenities on race day:
- Water stations providing 330ml bottles and energy stations featuring isotonic drinks and gels.
- Pacesetters assisting runners with specific finish time goals.
- A baggage store for personal belongings and first aid stations at regular intervals.
- An event village featuring food and drink vendors alongside charity partners.
Available distances:
- Half Marathon: Open to entrants aged 17 and older.
- 5 Mile: A shorter distance event starting after the half marathon participants.
Each finisher receives a medal, a goody bag with post-race treats, and a technical t-shirt. The event utilizes chip timing to record official results. Participants may use bone-conducting headphones if the volume is kept low, but in-ear headphones are not permitted for safety. The event operates a collection-only policy for race numbers, with specific arrangements shared closer to the date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
