Event Overview
The Ralph J. Redington Run is an annual athletic tradition held in Irvine, California. Organized by the Woodbridge Village Association, the 2026 edition marks the 50th anniversary of the community event. All races take place on July 4th and begin near the North Lake Gazebo on Barranca Parkway.
Participants can choose from various distance options:
- 5K
- 10K
- Kids Run (1 mile)
Registration and Logistics
All registration is handled exclusively through an online system. There are no options for in-person or cash registrations on the day of the event or at the community center. The registration period concludes on the Friday preceding the race. Participants who complete their entry by the early bird deadline in mid-June have the option to pick up their bib numbers and event T-shirts a day early at the Woodbridge Community Center on Creek Road. Those who register after this date must collect their materials at the event site on Barranca Parkway on race morning.
Competition and Awards
The event features competitive categories for both adult distances and the youth race. Awards are presented to the first-place finishers in each age division for men and women in the 5K and 10K events. In the Kids Run, which is open to children aged 1 to 10, medals are awarded to the top three overall finishers for boys and girls.
