SoCal's Pirate's Run
SoCal's Pirate's Run takes place on May 22, 2027 at Shoreline Park and the Bolsa Chica State Beach area in Huntington Beach, California. The event is pirate themed throughout the course with stage entertainment, pirate demonstrations, fencing, music, a warm-up, and a selfie booth.
Distances offered:
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles)
- 10K Run/Walk
- 1-Mile Pirate’s Race
- Kids Fun Run
The course is paved, flat, and described as fast with ocean views. It is wide enough for strollers, walkers, and dogs on leashes. The route is chip timed by Itz About Time and is shared with the public, so participants should be aware of cyclists and other path users. The event proceeds in all weather.
Every registered participant who wears a visible race bib receives a custom pirate-themed finisher medal, a pirate-themed event T-shirt, and a race bib. Age-division awards are given in five-year groups through 85 plus, plus top 3 overall male and female trophies and awards for best-dressed pirate-themed outfits. Early packet pick-up is available the day before at Road Runner Sports Newport Beach. On-site parking uses a QR code in lot 25; alternative parking is available in Sunset Beach with a walk in to the site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
