Rainbow Weekend 5K
The Rainbow Weekend 5K is a community 5K walk and fun run held in Kent, Ohio, on October 17, 2026 as part of Main Street Kent's sixth annual Rainbow Weekend. The event celebrates the local LGBTQ+ community under the theme Pride and Joy.
The route travels along the Portage Hike & Bike Trail through a tree-lined section and starts and finishes at North Water Brewing Company, where an End of the Rainbow Party will take place at the finish area. The route itself is accessible, but the path from the finish line to North Water Brewing Company is not; event organizers offer assistance to individuals who need help navigating the course on the day of the event.
Registration pricing varies by date: early registration from August 1 to August 31 is $25 plus a registration fee, September 1 to September 15 is $30 plus a registration fee, and September 16 to October 17 is $35 plus a registration fee. Children 12 and under are free but must register. Each ticket includes entry to the 5K, a race bib, a race T-shirt when available with limited guarantee after September 16, and event giveaways and snacks.
The 2026 beneficiary is the Portage County Pride Fund, administered through The Portage Foundation. A portion of proceeds from drink purchases at North Water Brewing Company during the post-race party will be donated to the fund. The race and post-race activities are described as family-friendly.
