Rainbow Weekend 5K
The Rainbow Weekend 5K is a community 5K run and walk held in Kent, Ohio on October 17, 2026. The course starts and ends at North Water Brewing Company and routes participants through the trees of the Portage Hike & Bike Trail. An End of the Rainbow Party takes place at the finish area near North Water Brewing Company, and a portion of proceeds from drink purchases at the party will be donated to the Portage County Pride Fund offered through The Portage Foundation.
The event is presented as family friendly. Children may run with an accompanying adult or cheer at the finish line. The race route is accessible, but the path from the finish line to North Water Brewing Company is not fully accessible; event organizers will work with individuals who need assistance on the day of the event.
Registration opens August 1, 2026 and includes a tiered fee schedule: August 1 to August 31 is $25.00 plus a $2.50 registration fee, September 1 to September 15 is $30.00 plus a $2.80 registration fee, and September 16 to October 17 is $35.00 plus a $3.10 registration fee. Children 12 and under are free but must register. Each registration includes participation in the 5K, a race bib, a T shirt when available, a colorful bandana, and additional giveaways and snacks in the race packet.
