Rainbow Run
The Rainbow Run is a color fun run and walk that takes place in Traverse City, Michigan. Organized through a partnership between TART Trails and Up North Pride, the event serves as a fundraiser to support local trail systems and the Northern Michigan 2SLGBTQ+ community during Pride Month.
The course follows a counterclockwise loop around the Boardman Lake Loop Trail, covering a total distance of 4 miles. Participants navigate the route in sequential waves to manage trail capacity and ensure a smooth flow through the various activity points.

The event features five distinct color stations positioned at intervals along the trail. At these locations, participants receive applications of colored powder made from cornstarch. This material is biodegradable and human-friendly, designed to wash away with rain to prevent lasting impact on the park environment or city infrastructure.
Logistics are centered at Hull Park, which serves as the gathering point for music and refreshments before and after the activity. The trail remains open to the general public during the event. Facilities including water stations and restrooms are located at Hull Park and Medalie Park. Participants who complete their registration by the designated deadline in late May are guaranteed a branded white t-shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
