Rainbow Run
TART Trails and Up North Pride are hosting the Rainbow Run, a color fun run and fundraiser on June 20, 2026 at Hull Park in Traverse City. The route follows the Boardman Lake Loop Trail counterclockwise for 4 miles and highlights the trail system and Northern Michigan 2SLGBTQ+ community during Pride Month.
The course mixes pavement, boardwalk, and short gravel sections and is described as fully accessible. Five distinct and separated stations along the route provide colored cornstarch powder. The powder is described as human, fish, and environment friendly and is expected to wash out after rain. The trail will remain open to other users during the event and designated waiting areas are provided at wave start locations.
Participants identify as runners or walkers at check in and are assigned one of eight waves. Waves start two minutes apart and each wave is limited to 50 participants. Packet pick up and check in are available on the Friday before the event at Fleet Feet in downtown Traverse City and on the morning of the event at Hull Park.
Pre registration rates apply for those who register by May 30 and guarantee a branded white t shirt for registered participants. Prices increase on May 31. Proceeds will be split between Up North Pride and TART Trails. Public parking and restrooms are available near Hull Park and at Medalie Park.
