Rail Trail 10K Race
The Rail Trail 10K Race is an annual event held in Hamden, Connecticut. The 2026 edition marks the 10th anniversary of the race and serves as the Eastern Region 10K Championship Race for the Road Runners Club of America. The event takes place at the Railroad Canal Line Main Parking Lot on Sherman Avenue and proceeds regardless of rain or shine.
The course is a flat, out-and-back route located entirely on the New Haven - Northampton Rail Trail. This path is closed to motorized traffic and features no street crossings. Participants run through natural scenery during the autumn season. Aid stations providing water and electrolyte drinks are positioned at mile 2.5 and mile 3.5, as well as at the finish line.

Participants receive a short-sleeve tech shirt, available in men's and women's cuts, and a custom 3-inch finisher medal. There are no time cutoffs or early starts for this race. Awards are presented to the top five male and female finishers overall, as well as the top five finishers in various age groups ranging from 5-9 to over 80.
