Rail Trail 10K Race - Hamden, CT (October 3, 2026)
The Rail Trail 10K Race is the 10th annual running of this event and is designated as the Eastern Region 10K Championship for the Road Runners Club of America. The race takes place on October 3, 2026 at the Railroad Canal Line Main Parking Lot, 255 Sherman Ave., Hamden, CT 06518.
The course is 100% on the rail trail with no cars and no street crossings. It is a flat out-and-back route described as picturesque through fall scenery. Plenty of parking is available in rail trail lots and on-street. Aid is provided with Poland Spring water and Gatorade Endurance available at Miles 2.5 and 3.5 and at the finish area. Live, text, and email results are provided and finish line photos are offered free.
Entrants receive men's and women's cut short sleeve tech shirts and a 3-inch custom finisher medal. Awards are custom pint pilsner glass awards presented to the top 5 male and top 5 female overall finishers and top 5 male and female in age groups spanning 5-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29 through 80+.
Registration pricing shown online includes a processing fee (total listed $64.85) and a race day price of $65. Fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be deferred. On race day only cash and checks are accepted; cards are not accepted. Bib pickup is handled by event staff at the venue and a self-lookup area is available for those who do not know their bib number. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
