Event overview
The Rail Trail 10K Race takes place on October 3, 2026, at the Rail Trail Parking Lot, 4340 Farmington Heritage Canal Trail, Hamden, CT 06518. The organizer is Shoreline Sharks. Course and logistics
The course is 100% on the Rail Trail with no cars and no street crossings. It is described as flat and runs through fall scenery. Aid stations with Poland Spring water and Gatorade Endurance are located at mile 2.4 and 3.6, and additional hydration is provided at the finish. Porta-lets are available at the venue. There is parking in the Rail Trail lots and on-street where legal; parking is not allowed at the Dunkin Donuts / Amity Liquors lot.
Entry, timing and awards
Entry prices listed in the event information vary by date: $55 (10/19/2025–12/31/2025), $60 (1/1/2026–10/1/2026), and $65 for in-person race-day registration. Transfers to another athlete are allowed through Active until 9/3/2026 for a $25 fee. Deferral to the following year is allowed until 9/3/2026 for a $25 fee. Timing uses transponder chips with gun and net times; awards are based on gun time. Results are provided by text, email and live streaming. All entrants receive men's and women's cut short sleeve tech T-shirts and a 3-inch custom finisher medal with a choice of medal color. Free race photos and a finisher certificate are provided.
