Rail Trail 10K Race
The Rail Trail event is a 10K held on October 3, 2026 on the paved Farmington Heritage Canal Trail in Hamden, CT. The course is entirely on the rail trail with no street crossings or vehicle traffic and uses an out and back route that is generally flat. The event serves as the 2026 RRCA Eastern Region Championship 10K.
Timing is by transponder with both gun and net times recorded. Results are streamed live and are sent to finishers by text and email. There are no time cutoffs and no early starts. Aid is provided with Poland Spring water and Gatorade Endurance at approximately miles 2.4 and 3.6, and at the finish line. Porta-lets are available at the venue.
All entrants receive short sleeve technical shirts in men's and women's cuts. Finishers receive a 3 inch custom finisher medal with a medal color choice. Awards are presented to the overall top three men and women and to the top three in each five year age division from 5-9 through 80 plus, with awards based on gun time. Award winners may pick up awards immediately at the awards table; there is no formal award ceremony. Free downloadable race photos and finisher certificates are provided by EliteFeats.
