Raible Run to Remember
The Raible Run to Remember is the fourth annual memorial event organized by Steel City NROTC in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The event honors a lieutenant colonel who gave his life protecting the community and promotes community engagement, health and wellness, and patriotism.
Event formats include:
- In-Person 5K Run/Walk 3.1 miles
- Virtual 5K Run/Walk/Ruck 3.1 miles
- In-Person Ruck 3.1 miles; 35 lb male / 25 lb female
Official timing is provided by a veteran-owned timing service and includes RFID-equipped bibs, an LED finish-line leaderboard, and live results posting. Virtual participants are invited to a private Strava club, will be mailed an event t-shirt, and may record official virtual times between November 6 and November 8 for virtual competition; top virtual male and female runners will be recognized.
Registration details in the event materials list an early registration window, fees for individual entries, and a unit registration option for ROTC and JROTC units at $75, which includes a commemorative paddle. Team registration is available during sign-up and the team with the most participants registered by race day will receive a $500 prize.
On-site amenities include a participant village with games, raffles, and food vendors, pre- and post-race snacks, a finisher medal, a new event t-shirt design, and a ceremony to honor the lieutenant colonel. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
