About the race
The RAF Shawbury RAFBF 10km Airfield Race takes place on 20 March 2027 at RAF Shawbury, SY4 4DZ. The event is a 10 km road race around the airfield on a flat, fast tarmacked surface. Distance and timing services are managed by JC Race Solutions.
The event supports the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund; a minimum of £5 from every entry will be donated to the RAFBF. Entry is limited to 400 places. Entry fees include a listed price of £30 until 18 March 2027 and a service fee of 4 percent per sign up with a minimum charge of 50 p.
Runners will be registered on site and directed into the start area for pre race briefing and warm up. As RAF Shawbury is an active military establishment, all entrants aged over 16 must present recognised photo ID such as a passport or driving licence to gain entry. Baggage and vehicles may be subject to search on entering MOD property. Filming or recording on the airfield course is not permitted.
Prizes and participant items include trophies for the top three male and female finishers, finisher medals, and goody bags. The event village will have local food and drink vendors, toilets including a disabled access portaloo, and large tents for changing. Guests are welcome with a maximum of four guests per runner; organisers require guest names and nationalities.
There is a strict no litter and no foreign object debris policy. Items must be placed in provided bins including at the 5 km water station. Breach of this rule may result in disqualification, removal from MOD property, and a ban from future events.
