RACING SO THEY CAN RIDE
The event takes place on September 19, 2026, at DICK'S Sporting Goods, Vann Drive, Jackson, TN, USA. It offers timed and untimed running options and a short fun run.
Distances include:
- 5K
- 10K (running only, no walking)
- 1 Mile Fun Run
The event raises funds and awareness for the Rein-bow Riding Academy’s hippotherapy program offered through The Therapy & Learning Center. Money raised from the race helps pay for the cost of hippotherapy so there is no cost to the families served.
Hippotherapy is a form of therapy in which a therapist uses the characteristic movements of a horse to provide graded motor and sensory input. The horse’s gait supplies rhythmic movement that mimics the patterns humans make when walking, which can help coordinate muscle movement and balance.
Hippotherapy serves children and adults with a range of diagnoses, including cerebral palsy, abnormal muscle tone, sensory integration disorders, impaired communication, autism spectrum disorders, and impaired balance responses. The program benefits patients of all ages and does not require the ability to walk.
Registration options include entry that provides a short sleeve shirt. Event sponsors include the Therapy & Learning Center and Forty West. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
