Rachel & Friends 5k
Rachel & Friends is a non-profit organization that works with adults with developmental disabilities and with individuals in the community who have developmental challenges. The event aims to highlight people with Down Syndrome, Autism, and other challenges and to include community members in a shared activity.
Distances offered:
- 3.1 Miles 5k Run/Walk, registration fee $30.
- 1 Mile 1 Mile Run/Walk, registration fee $30.
- 0.25 Miles Fun Run for children, free.
The one mile event follows the same first half mile, then turns around and returns to the start/finish. The free fun run takes place before the 5k and 1 mile events, and all children who finish the fun run receive a ribbon.
Online registration deadlines affect shirt availability for the 5k; to receive a shirt at the 5k, online registration must be completed by September 20, 2026. In-person registration will be available on the day of the event at 1:00 p.m. Packet pick up is scheduled for October 2, 2026 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 1700 Lyons Road, Suite A2, A New You Total Wellness.
Awards will be handed out by age category and a $100 gift card will be awarded to the overall male and female finishers. Age groups for awards are 0-11, 12-18, 19-39, 40-59, and 60 and up. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
