Memorial Run
This event is a memorial 5K run/walk held in November in Auburn, Massachusetts to raise awareness for speech pathology and to support Auburn Youth and Family Services. It honors the memory of the organizer's daughter, who battled AML, a form of aggressive leukemia, and recognizes her work with children with developmental disabilities.
The event offers the following distance:
- 3.1 Miles (5K)
The course starts in the Auburn Elks parking lot and follows Route 12, turning onto Warren Ave and Bryn Mawr, with a turnaround just past Leicester St before returning to the Auburn Elks parking lot for a total of 3.1 miles.
Registration fees vary by registration period and are non-refundable; fees range from $30 to $40 depending on when participants register. Early bib and shirt pickup is scheduled the day before the race at Sneakerama in Worcester, and bib and shirt pickup will also be available on race morning at the Elks Club for those who cannot attend early pickup. Participants who ordered shirts during the previous signup may collect those shirts at this year's event.
Race shirts are available to the first 200 registrants; sizes and shirts are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking is available at the Elks and at additional nearby lots. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in both male and female categories. There will also be raffles, including a 50/50 raffle.
