Event Overview
The Raceway 5K/3K is a running and walking event held on Saturday, August 8, 2026. The event takes place at the Raceway Woods Forest Preserve in Carpentersville, Illinois, on the grounds of the former Meadowdale International Speedway.
Course and Distances
The race features two distances: a 5K and a 3K. Both courses utilize the historic racetrack layout, incorporating its curves, straightaways, banked turns, and hills. Participants can run or walk.
Registration
Registration is available online. There are early bird, standard, and race-day pricing tiers for both the 5K and 3K distances. A virtual participation option is also offered, allowing runners to complete a 5K or 3K on their own course anytime during the month of August.
Awards
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers. Age group awards are also presented for multiple categories, ranging from 14 & under to 60 & over. Additional awards include a top team category and a "Top Dog" award.
Proceeds
This is the 11th annual event. Proceeds benefit the charities of the Rotary Club of Carpentersville, including the local F.I.S.H. Food Pantry and Operation Warm, which provides coats for children in need.
